What Can You Do

As consumers, we might feel that there is nothing much that we can do to stop the alarming deforestation rate, but wait! If we all join forces, we are able to make some changes in the future.
Here are some steps that we can take as responsible consumers:

1)  Switch to product that uses certified sustainable palm oil.

2)  Don't buy products like agricultural crops or meat that are grown on cleared rain forests.

3)  Join organizations that play an active role in rain forest conservation like Friends of EarthWWF Global, and other local rain forest conservation clubs.

4)  You can choose to write to our prime minister and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment urging them to allocate more funding when it comes to conserving the rain forest in our country as it is one of the most valuable gifts from mother nature.

5)  Plant trees, try to be paperless as much as possible, practice the 3 R's (Reduce, Reuse and Recycle).

There are many things out there that we can do in order to reduce the deforestation rates. It might take  some time but if all of us combine forces together we can create a better environment for our future generations. We don't want to see our great grandchildren living in a world where their greenery is robbed away due to mistakes that we made in the past.

Make the choice now before it gets too late!!!
